It’s been a few months since Ruby Star Society spoiled us on its social media with pretty pictures of his beautifuly designed cottons. We can finally feel them in our hands and look at them with heart shaped eyes!
You will understand that Ruby Star Society is our biggest crush of 2019 for Valérie and me. It is with a few tears of joy and a lot of excitement that we can finally present to you this wonderful company!
Ruby Star Society, the birth of a great collaboration
Ruby Star Society combines the work of 5 designers and a great brand manager, Melody Miller, Alexia Marcelle Abegg, Coleman-Hale Rashida, Kimberly Kight, Sarah Watts and Devon Lot. These 6 great women got to know each other while working on their first project, the Cotton+Steel brand. In October 2018, in collaboration with Moda Fabrics, these women launched Ruby Star Society, a modern and colorful new company that totally fit their personnalities. We are pleased to discover their first collections and many other collections coming up in the next months.
New collections !
Anagram is a Memphis modern inspired collection. It’s about mixing things up, finding new meaning and surprises, and trusting the creative journey to take you new places.
Zip ! is a not-so-basic print with a little more ‘woosh’ than your average stripe. The painterly aesthetic adds texture and dimension.
Pop ! is a joyful collection inspired by things that go pop. So pop on a record, have a cold bottle of soda pop, and join in the party.
Like a polka dot, but better – Spark is a basic featuring a delicate asterisk motif you’ll find throughout Melody’s work.
This cheerful collection in Melody’s signature vintage-inspired style and color makes us think of long phone calls with friends and meeting up to dish over ice cream.
Upcoming collections !
Crescent celebrates the mysteries of a mythical nighttime woods and the fun of dreaming up enchanting narratives. Panel in this collection includes a one-yard panel in three colors divided in four large focal pieces and tons of smaller tags and labels to stitch onto gifts you make your loved ones.
Brushed is a textured basic that designer Sarah Watts created by illustrating a pattern with black ink, scanning it, and recoloring it digitally.
Designer Kimberly Kight’s Grid shows a whole new range of colors. The ¼” squares are not only a perfect subtle blender, they also make a fun base for embroidery and sashiko projects.
Alma is about the ties of community, family, friendships, and the women who share their strenght with the people around them. Designer Alexia was inspired by her mother’s quiet fortitude and lifeling love of textiles and gardening. The colors in Alma are sunny and warm, but a calm deep blue adds depth to the range of hues. Alexia carved, stamped and painted to create this collection, giving her textiles a handmade quality.
La base Add It Up de la designer Alexia Marcelle Abegg est présentée dans de nombreuses couleurs. Le motif subtil agit à la fois comme une impression comme un solide. Cette vase va vraiment avec n’importe quoi !
