Must-Have Fabric: Why Kona Cotton is the Ideal Choice for All Your Sewing Projects

For the past several years, quilters have adored using the Kona fabrics, and I understand why they have!

The Kona collection now includes 340 colours. Sorry! I mean a total of 341 colours if we include our Canadian exclusivity, Canada Red! If you are looking for a specific colour, I guarantee you will be able to find it in the Kona collection! Also now available are a selection of colours offered in a 108 in width, ideal to use for your quilt backing.

Now certified by Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Kona has been dyed and processed according to Oeko-Tex regulations dyes, which are products that don’t contain any formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, cadmium, nickel and many other health-damaging chemicals. Our ecological conscience feels a little better!

The Kona colour chart
You can now purchase your very own Kona colour chart to properly plan all your future projects. I love what Meghan, from Then Came June, did with hers. She cut out and put all individual swatches on magnets, which makes preparing and planning her layouts a lot easier.

Some ideas to get you inspired
Now, it’s all about getting inspired. Who said that plain solid fabrics look boring together? You certainly did not hear it from me!

You could successfully achieve the same look with Kona cotton fabrics, as this quilt by Nadia Kehnle named Swell, Which is made with the Kaleidoscope collection designed by Alison Glass.

Wishing you well on all your future rainbow sewing projects! We would love for you to share with us your projects, current favourites and discoveries on our social media platforms, by using the #clubtissus.   *Please note that the availability of the presented products may vary from one store to another.
